An oil lamp has three parts.
Vessel, wick and oil.
A wick acts as a medium for the oil to pass and burn and give a controlled flame. ( Capillary Action)
It appears that the wick is burning. But as long as the oil is there the wick doesn’t burn.
Wick should not ever think that is the source of light. It should remember that it will be alive as long as it acts only as a medium. It must do its duty of being just a medium.
The moment it tries to become the source, its burning starts and its end is near.
This World is a Vessel.
Oil is the Divine Power.
We are wicks.
